Tournaments

At The Bengal Club, I have run a couple of "Tournaments" for the past couple of years. When I re-did my website, I thought I'd consolidate the information here for archival purposes.

The Bengal Club High Ground Tournament

Now in its third year, the High Ground is less of a Campaign in the strict sense of the word and more of a tournament. Players showing up on a given night are randomly assigned Union or Confederate commands, generate a division from a set of tables and test their luck on the battlefield. Feats of arms earn them Glory Points which are totaled up at the end of the year to determine the champion.

    2006 - Colonel Winky (a.k.a. Jerry Kegley)

The Bengal Club Blue Max Tournament

Over the years, we’ve enjoyed playing the old GDW World War I air combat game Blue Max with 1/285 scale miniature planes on a GHQ Terrain Maker table. It was something I started way back in my primordial gaming days with the old Last Grenadier bunch (my old bunch which was not necessarily everyone else’s old bunch...)

At any rate, On September 14, 2007 we had a game and I thought it was so much fun that I decided to turn it into an ongoing tournament like the High Ground one we’ve been running.

A Note on Experience: According to the campaign rules, you earn one EP per turn on the board, 24 EP for a kill and 5 EP for accomplishing a mission. If more than one pilot participates in a kill, it goes to the senior pilot if Central or high die roll if Allied. If you are shot down and survive, you will receive EPs for your on-board time, but NOT any EPs for any kills. If you are shot down and killed (or otherwise killed in action), your EPs are reset to zero and you get to start over for that side.

In cases where one pilot took over for a player who left the game, I split the EPs in half between the two players.
