Why I Left Facebook…
Why I Left Facebook…
Thanks to the arrogance of Mssr. Assange, we now live in a post-WikiLeaks world. Our information is not safe anywhere—if it ever really was anyway. But mostly I got tired of having to reexamine my Facebook permissions every other month because they changed something; I’m still furious that FB was the cause of the only time in decades that my friends got spammed from my account; I am appalled at the cavalier attitude of FB’s founders and their “people want their information spread around” policies. I don’t trust them, just like I no longer trust Google.
Finally, Facebook really never offered me any compelling benefit. I seldom visit, and whenever I posted updates it was through another service anyway. So for me, the headache far outweighed the utility.
But I’m not crawling into a hole somewhere—there will still be plenty of ways to keep in touch with me:
•Click the >doug link or the >dpkworldwide link at the top to go to my personal and business websites
•Click one of the choices below to find me on Twitter or read my Wordpress blog
•Email me
So, do keep in touch if you’d like—bookmark me for future reference. There are still lots of places where you’ll be able to find me—they’ll just no longer be facilitated by Mark Zuckerberg…
simply: i don’t trust it anymore & it became nothing but an annoyance
