The Expedition's Objective
German East Africa—being sorely threatened by the rogue Slaver Abu Al Oshiri—was our theater of operations with the German punitive expedition out to destroy Al Oshiri's base of operations, a stockade located deep within the wilderness.
The tall, large-leafed trees are the magnificent work of "Kaiser Bill" Witthans, who was there to play and lend the use of his Arab troops. He also made some other lovely jungl-ey terrain like the rock mass in the upper left.
